230501 Speaking (S) (WiSe 2007/2008)

Contents, comment

"Speaking" is a course designed to improve the way you communicate verbally. The goal of this course is to provide you with the knowledge of how to improve your practical speaking skills in English and provide you with opportunities to practice what you¿ve learned. You might be able to understand complicated, academic, technical, or even poetic English passively, but when it comes to actively talking to native speakers in various situations, you probably still have some difficulties. This course aims to improve your pronunciation, choice of words and confidence in especially everyday speaking situations. It is, therefore, intended to complement the skills you obtain in other courses in the English Department (e.g. grammar, writing, literature).

In addition to homework assignments, quizzes and participation, your grade will be based on a midterm assessment and a final oral examination.

Please register through the online-registration process. To secure your place, you must attend from the FIRST session.
