In dieser Übung werden Sozialwissenschaftler vorgestellt, die für die Entwicklung des soziologischen Denkes von besonderer, oft nachhaltiger Bedeutung geworden sind. Dazu zählen u. a. Auguste Comte, Herbert Spencer, Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim, Georg Simmel, Max Weber, Karl Mannheim, Norbert Elias, George Herbert Mead, Talcott Parsons und R alf Dahrendorf. Neben dem theoretischen Gehalt soll die Zeitgebundenheit soziologischen Denks deutlich werden. Die Basistexte werden als Reader herausgegeben und können wie auch Ergänzungstexte als Kurzreferate vorgestellt werden. Die Scheinkriterien entsprechen den Vorgaben der einzelnen Studiengänge.
