300026 Soziologie des Suizids (S) (WiSe 2007/2008)

Die geplante Veranstaltung verfolgt das Ziel, (a) die in der Geschichte wechselnden Interpretationen des Suizides und seiner Bewertungen zu verdeutlichen, (b) die Epidemiologie des Suizides im Längsschnitt und im internationalen Vergleich zu untersuchen, ( c) ausgewählte methodische Probleme der Suizidforschung (u.a. die Problematik der Suiziddefinition, der Todesursachenstatistik als gesellschaftliche Konstruktion, Abschiedsbriefe als Dokumente) zu diskutieren, (d) zentrale theoretische Erklärungsansätze (u.a. Statusintegrationstheorie, Modernisierungstheorie, Anomietheorie, Lern-bzw. Nachahmungstheorie, Netzwerktheorie, Frustrations-Aggressionstheorie nach Henry/Short) in Anlehnung und Überwindung des Durkheimschen Ansatzes theoretischer und empirischer Kritik auszusetzen, (e) Präventions- und Interventionsansätze soziologisch zu analysieren und (f) die spezifische Problematik des "assistierten Suizides" zu untersuchen.
