Die Lehrveranstaltung führt in zentrale Fragestellungen der Allgemeinen Literaturwissenschaft und deren historisch entwickelte Teilbereiche ein. Vor allem werden Texte zur Geschichte und Systematik von Ästhetik, Poetik und Rhetorik sowie zu Erzähltheorie und Erzähltechniken gelesen. So wird, ausgehend von gegenwärtigen Positionen des Fachs, ein Einblick in die historische Entwicklung relevanter Fragestellungen seit der Antike gewährt. Zugleich sollen theoretische Reflexionen aus der Allgemeinen Literaturwissenschaft konkret an literarischen Texten erprobt werden. Ziel der Lehrveranstaltung ist die Vermittlung und Anwendung grundlegender Kenntnisse und Fertigkeiten literaturwissenschaftlichen Arbeitens.
