Die Veranstaltung ist im Studienprogramm der Schwerpunktbereiche 6 und 10 vorgesehen. Ebenso willkommen sind aber Studierende, die die Kenntnisse der Pflichtfachvorlesung Europarecht vertiefen wollen, sowie Teilnehmende aus anderen Studiengängen.
Gegenstand der Veranstaltung ist das institutionelle Europarecht; im Mittelpunkt stehen das Organisationsverfassungsrecht der Organe (Europäischer Rat, Rat, Kommission und Parlament) sowie die Kompetenzen der Union und die unterschiedlichen Rechtsetzungsverfahren.
Für Studierende mit dem Studienziel Erste Juristische Prüfung werden eine SPB-Klausur sowie SPB-Hausarbeiten angeboten. Für Teilnehmende aus anderen Studiengängen können nach Absprache Prüfungen stattfinden.
