Das Seminar bietet eine umfassende Einführung in die grundlegenden Elemente des Dramas und deren Analyse, einschließlich Handlung, Charakter, Dialog, Raum und Zeit. Neben einem historischen Überblick über die Entwicklung des Dramas von der griechischen Tragödie bis zu modernen und postmodernen Strömungen, werden zentrale Theorien wie Aristoteles' Poetik, Brechts episches Theater, semiotische Analysen und poststrukturalistische Ansätze behandelt. Praktische Analyseeinheiten ermöglichen die Anwendung der erlernten Theorien auf ausgewählte dramatische Werke. Ziel des Seminars ist es, den Studierenden die Fähigkeiten zur kritischen Interpretation und Analyse dramatischer Texte zu vermitteln.
