230433 Prinzipien des Sprachwandels (S) (WiSe 2024/2025)

Die deutsche Sprache wird in diesem Kurs aus diachroner Perspektive betrachtet, wobei Veränderungen auf verschiedenen Systemebenen (Phonologie, Morphologie, Syntax, Semantik, Pragmatik) besprochen werden. Sprachstufen von den Vorläufern des Deutschen bis hin zur Gegenwartssprache sind Gegenstand des Seminars. Anhand der Behandlung wichtiger Phänomene (u.a. Lautverschiebungen, Umlaut, Periphrasen) soll in diesem Kurs die Frage nach dem Warum von Sprachwandel adressiert werden. Zu diesem Zweck werden übergeordnete Prinzipien des Sprachwandels und Sprachwandeltheorien erörtert. Nicht zuletzt erlauben die Erkenntnisse zur Diachronie auch fundierte Erklärungen zu Phänomenen des Gegenwartsdeutschen (wie Dialekten, Schwankungsfällen oder vermeintlichen Unregelmäßigkeiten), was an ausgewählten Beispielen demonstriert werden soll.
