Das Seminar führt zunächst in die wirtschaftspolitischen Vorstellungen der Nationalsozialisten ein. Sie behandelt die wirtschaftspolitischen Weichenstellungen zu Beginn der NS-Herrschaft, den Übergang von der Arbeitsbeschaffung zur Aufrüstung und Kriegsvorbereitung und die Frage nach dem Einfluss von (Groß-)unternehmen auf die Wirtschaftspolitik. Die Entwicklung von Schlüsselbranchen wird ebenso exemplarisch untersucht wie der Einfluss und die Folgen der nationalsozialistischen Rassenpolitik. Selbstverständlich werden auch der Übergang zum absoluten Vorrang der Kriegsrüstung ("totaler Krieg") und die Wirtschaftspolitik in den besetzten Staaten Europas behandelt.
