Was bedeutet Zuwanderung für unsere Gesellschaft? Verändert sich eine Gesellschaft durch Diversität? Wenn ja, in welcher Weise?
Und: Wer verändert sich eigentlich und warum? Wie wirkt sich Diversität in der Bevölkerung auf Normen, Werte, Gesetzgebung, Politiken und Institutionen aus?
Was bedeutet größere Diversität in der Bevölkerung für unterschiedliche Gruppen? Wie wirken sich Zuwanderung und Diversität auf die Identifizierung mit dem Begriff "Nation" aus? Inwiefern fördert Diversität auch transnationale Identitäten und was heißt das dann für national geprägte, gesellschaftliche Ordnungprozesse?
All diese Fragen sollen in diesem Kurs anhand der Literatur diskutiert und erörtert werden. Studierende sollen die theoretischen Fragen auf unterschiedliche Bereiche des gesellschaftlichen Lebens und unterschiedliche, geographische Kontexte anwenden.

Englischkenntnisse sind für die erfolgreiche Teilnahme an diesem Kurs unerlässlich, da wir viel auf englischsprachige Literatur zurückgreifen.
