Dieser Block soll in theoretischen Konzepte der evolutionären Ökologie einführen. Die TeilnehmerInnen erhalten im Kurs theoretische Fragestellungen zu ausgewählten Themen (z.B. sexuelle Selektion, Populationsgenetik, Evolution von Kooperation). Diese Fragestellungen sollen in Kleingruppen von drei oder vier TeilnehmerInnen bearbeitet werden, wobei mir wichtig ist, dass jede Kleingruppe ihr Tempo und ihre Herangehensweise an die Probleme selbständig bestimmen kann. Nach einem Tag Beschäftigung mit dem Thema diskutieren die Gruppen gemeinsam die erarbeiteten theoretischen Konzepte. Am anschließenden Kurstag vergleichen die TeilnehmerInnen ihre theoretischen Ideen mit der Literatur, verfassen Zusammenfassungen ihrer Erkenntnisse und präsentieren Kurzvorträge zum Stand der Forschung.
