We will discuss recent papers in phonetics and phonology, with a focus on discourse phonetics and discourse phonology. These papers are chosen based on our own interest, e.g. as these are linked to our own ongoing research projects or as they seem to be widely discussed in the community. Alternatively, our own project work (experiments, data collections, theses) will be discussed.

As part of your module portfolio, it will be necessary to hold at least one oral presentation in English about a recent research paper as part of the general discussion in class. This presentation will not only be a summary of the paper, but link to points of discussion or interest, related work, open questions or unresolved issues for the plenary. Alternatively, at least two class discussions on "hot topics" need to be summarized in a written term paper.
