Das Seminar baut auf den linguistischen Kenntnissen der Teilnehmenden auf und vertieft sie insbesondere im Bereich Phonetik und Phonologie. Im Bereich der Phonetik werden Grundlagen der Artikulation und Akustik vermittelt sowie das Instrumentarium des phonetischen Transkribierens. Dabei werden an Daten aus unterschiedlichen Sprachen phonetische Analysen durchgeführt. Im Bereich der Phonologie werden in einem sprachvergleichenden Zugang die segmentalen (Phoneme) und suprasegmentalen (Silben, metrische Füße, Intonationseinheiten) Lautsysteme des Deutschen behandelt.
