This course aims to introduce students to philosophical discussions and problems surrounding the topic of moral responsibility. The course starts by covering the main analyses of moral responsibility, introducing the control and the epistemic conditions for moral responsibility. It then focuses on each condition in detail, covering certain debates on free will and moral luck within the discussions of the control condition, and debates on the excusing potential of various kind of ignorance within the discussions of the epistemic condition. Some other topics, such as the possibility of collective responsibility are also covered.
