996005 Motivated, realistic, and successful: staying on track in the research process (WS) (WiSe 2023/2024)

Contents, comment

Writing a dissertation is a marathon, not a sprint. It takes motivation, helpful habits, and a
long breath. In this workshop, we discuss and explore how you can get motivated (again?)
and use your resources as effectively as possible. We look at ways to formulate—and reach
—your goals and to plan realistically. At the end of the day, you will have a clearer picture of
the road ahead of you and you will have taken a few more steps towards your final
destination.

We will cover these topics:

• discovering hope and joy as key motivators
• identifying and using your resources
• making space and time for your goals
• planning realistically

We will be working with a mix of short trainer inputs, individual reflection, plenary
discussions, small group work, and writing prompts.

You are expected to be visibly present throughout the workshop. Please take part in an
environment where you can maintain confidentiality.
