220126 Die Entdeckung der Welt durch die Griechen (S) (WiSe 2023/2024)

Die Lehrveranstaltung beschäftigt sich mit der Entdeckung der Welt durch die Griechen von Beginn der Archaik (ca. 800 v.Chr.) bis in die hellenistisch-römische Zeit (100 n.Chr,). Im Zentrum stehen die Entdeckungsfahrten in das Schwarze Meer und den Atlantik, in das Rote Meer und den Indischen Ozean sowie die Erschließung territorialer Verbindungs- und Karawanenwege nach Zentralasien und die Sahara. Die Texte werden in Übersetzung vorgelegt. Sehr ratsam ist es, sich vorab anhand der genannten Sekundärliteratir über die grundlegenden historisch-politischen Kontexte zu informieren.
