Dieses Spezialmodul dient der Vertiefung der Kenntnisse im Feld der experimentellen Biotechnologie, wobei die einzellige Grünalge C. reinhardtii im Kurs als Untersuchungsobjekt verwendet wird. Im Praktikum sollen biochemische, molekularbiologische und analytische Techniken erlernt werden, die für biotechnologische Projekte relevant sind. Die praktischen Kenntnisse werden anhand folgender thematischer Schwerpunkte vermittelt:

  • Herstellung eines Pigments durch Expression eines optimierten, enzymcodierenden Gens.
  • Phänotypische Untersuchungen der mikrobiologischen Produktion von Wasserstoff.

In der Regel werden folgende drei Leistungen erbracht: Studienleistung (Seminarvortag), benotete Prüfungsleistung (Klausur) und unbenotete Prüfungsleistung (Portfolio, bestehend aus Skript lesen, Dokumentation der Versuche im Laborbuch, Ergebnispräsentation). Sollte der individuelle Studiengang andere Leistungen erfordern, ist dies vor Beginn des Kurses eigenständig mit der verantwortlichen Stelle der zuständigen Fakultät zu klären.
