Die Vorlesung gehört zum Bereich 3 ([nationales] öffentliches Wirtschaftsrecht Besonderer Teil) des Schwerpunktbereichs 4 (Öffentliches Wirtschaftsrecht in der EU).
Sie behandelt wichtige Einzelmaterien des öffentlichen Wirtschaftsrechts. Dazu zählen klassische Gebiete des Besonderen Wirtschaftsverwaltungsrechts wie das Gewerbe-, Gaststätten- und Handwerksrecht, aber auch aktuelle Rechtsgebiete wie das Energiewirtschafts- und das Telekommunikationsrecht.
Es wird eine Abschlussklausur angeboten, und es besteht die Möglichkeit, im Anschluss an die Vorlesung eine Schwerpunktbereichs-Hausarbeit zu schreiben.
