In diesem Seminar beschäftigen wir uns mit verschiedenen sprachlichen Variationsphänomenen, so z.B. diatopischer, diaphasischer und diachroner Variation. Neben der Beschreibung und Analyse konkreter Szenarien und Phänomene soll vor allem auch das (offene oder verdeckte) Prestige von Varianten oder Varietäten erörtert und − besonders auch mit Blick auf Unterricht und Bewertung − reflektiert werden. Darüber hinaus widmen wir uns auch dem didaktischen Potential dieses Themenbereichs: Da sprachliche Variation allgegenwärtig ist und besonders auch in Unterrichtssituationen greifbar wird, bietet sich dieser Themenbereich in besonderer Weise an, um Interesse für sprachliche Zusammenhänge zu wecken und linguistische Analyse-Fähigkeiten zu schulen. Inwiefern man dieses Potential nutzen kann, diskutieren wir anhand ausgewählter Beispiele.
