This course will focus on the fundamentals of qualitative research methods.
We will start by building on your existing knowledge of qualitative approaches, have an exchange about your ideas and experiences and develop an overview of the method landscape.
Then we will take a deeper look at different methods of data collection and analysis: We will talk about the history and approaches as well as the possibilities and limitations of various methods.
While working on the different methods, we will also look at examples of studies and data where possible.
Finally, we will explore some overarching aspects of qualitative research, such as ethics, fieldwork and planning a research project.
