996006 Researchers’ perspectives in qualitative analysis (S) (SoSe 2023)

Contents, comment

Multiplicity of perspectives is fundamental to knowledge production in science. However, the fact that researchers adopt a particular perspective shaped by their experiences, interests and social positions is often ignored. In the methods class we will explore the impact of researchers’ perspectives on qualitative analysis by discussing a variety of research approaches and different research materials such as interviews or photos.
On the first day of the class we will discuss the texts provided in the ‘Lernraum’. On the second day we will apply the gained insights into the perspectivity of research to empirical examples. Prior knowledge in the application of qualitative methods is desirable but not mandatory.
The texts all participants must read very carefully are available in the ‘Lernraum’. Participants should bring a web-enabled device (smartphone, tablet or laptop) for up- and downloading documents in the 'Lernraum'.
