iel des Projekts ist es eine Bioinformatics-Workbench aufzubauen.
Es soll dabei eine Linux-Live-CD entwickelt werden, die nahezu alle relevanten (frei erhältlichen) Softwarewerkzeuge für Bioinformatiker und Biotechnologen bereitstellt. Sie soll nach Fertigstellung in Forschung und Lehre eingesetzt werden.
Besonderes Augenmerk wird auf hohe Kompatibilität und Performanz des Gesamtsystems gelegt.
Die Grundlage sollen daher sogenannte Mini-Distros bilden, wie z.B. Feather-Linux, Damn-Small-Linux oder Morphix, etc.
