Im Mittelpunkt des Seminars steht die Auseinandersetzung mit „typisch“ sozialwissenschaftlichen Unterrichtsinhalten. Es soll insbesondere gefragt werden, ob und inwiefern diese Inhalte als Pflichtkanon des sozialwissenschaftlichen Sachunterrichts zu verstehen sind. Dabei soll auch diskutiert werden, welche Eindrücke die Lernenden aus ihrer Lebens- und Erfahrungswelt mit in den Unterricht bringen und welches kognitive Wissen durch die Lehrenden ergänzt werden muss, damit die SchülerInnen ein ganzheitliches Bild von Gesellschaft erlangen. Hierfür werden auch didaktisch-methodische Konzepte der sozialwissenschaftlichen Bildung als möglicher Zugangsweg betrachtet. Abschließend soll auf Basis der im Seminar erarbeiteten Inhalte das bestehende sozialwissenschaftliche Curriculum des Sachunterrichts reflektiert und diskutiert werden.
