Das Seminar beschäftigt sich mit den verschiedenen Theorien und Ansätzen zu Drama und Theater im 20 Jh. Gemeinsam werden wir uns Fragen stellen wie: Wie hat sich das Theater im vergangenen Jahrhundert auf Kriege und Krisen reagiert? Welche europäischen Diskurse werden im deutschsprachigen Theater aufgegriffen? Und wie wird die Dramengeschichte selbst reflektiert? Durch unsere Diskussionen und Reflexionen erhalten Sie nicht nur einen umfassenden Überblick über die verschiedenen Theorien und Ansätze, sondern auch die Fähigkeit, diese kritisch zu hinterfragen und zu diskutieren. Dabei werden wir uns intensiv mit den Ideen und Konzepten von bedeutenden Theatertheoretiker:innen und Dramatiker:innen wie u.a. Antonin Artaud, Bertolt Brecht, Friedrich Dürrenmatt und Erika Fischer-Lichte auseinandersetzen.
