Die UniBigband spielt zu Beginn des Wintersemesters am 18.10 abends 20.00 in T0-260 ein Willkommen-Konzert mit dem Programmschwerpunkt des derzeitigen Projekts: "UniBigBand spielt .... die Musik von Bill Holman"
Ab dem WS 2013/14 heißt es dann auch:
"Die UniBigBand spielt ... die Musik von Gil Evans"
Der neue Arbeitsschwerpunkt liegt auf der Musik (Kompositionen, Arrangements und Projektideen) des kanadischen Jazzpianisten und -komponisten Gil Evans.
Evans gelang es in Zusammenarbeit mit Claude Thornhill, Miles Davis, Helen Merrill, Steve Lacy, George Adams u.a. und mit seinen eigenen Orchestern seit den 1940er Jahren der orchestralen Jazzentwicklung bis zu seinem Tod 1988 immer wieder neue Impulse zu geben und maßgeblich zu beeinflussen und weiterzuentwickeln.Die UniBigBand präsentiert erste Teile ihrer Arbeit im Adventskonzert am 13.12.2013, 20.00 Uhr.
Ferner werden zu Ende des Semesters während eines Aufnahmewochenendes im Studio ausgewählte Stücke aufgezeichnet.
Dieses Projekt wird im SS 2014 fortgesetzt.
