Be part of a new and innovative approach to studying English!!! This is much more
than just an English language class; it is a cultural experience. This class provides
students with the opportunity to practice and learn English while at the same time
meaningfully exploring the many different faces of culture in the English speaking
countries of the world and beyond - all without ever leaving Germany. This class is
unique in that it uses simulation within the classroom learning environment in order to
provide students with an interactive and 'virtually' hands-on experience of the various
cultures in places where people speak English and elsewhere.
Students should prepare to bring their culture with them - no matter where they are
from. During the course of the semester we will compare and contrast the cultures of
North America, the United Kingdom, and the Southern Continent countries of South
Africa, India, Australia and New Zealand with the rest of the world in an attempt to
better understand how these cultures are both divergent and parallel. This class is
ideal for those interested in improving their English through an exploration and
experience of culture.
