Die Vorlesung gibt für Wirtschaftsmathematiker und andere eine Einführung in die Grundlagen der Informatik. Gegenstände sind die Grundbegriffe der Programmierung, Algorithmen und Datenstrukturen. Als Programmiersprachen werden C und C++ benutzt.
Die notwendigen Kenntnisse über C und C++ sowie das Betriebssystem Unix können in einem einführenden zweiwöchigen Blockkurs erworben werden, der in den Semsterferien angeboten wird (Kurs 24008).

Die Vorlesung ist laut Modulplan des Bachelor-Studiengangs WiMa fuer das 4./5. Semester vorgesehen, kann aber ab dem 1. Semester gehört werden.
Voraussetzung sind Programmierkenntnisse in C und C++ wie z. B. im Kurs 24008 vermittelt.
