Günter Grass’ Die Blechtrommel. Ein Roman ist eine fingierte Autobiographie des Protagonisten, ist Geschichts-, Abenteuer- und Bildungsroman sowie eine Satire seitens der ‘schelmischen’ Hauptfigur Oskar Matzerath. Im Kurs setzen wir uns mit den oben genannten Gattungsbezeichnungen auseinander, weil der Untertitel den Leser gerade dazu aufruft. Vergleichsmomente sind u.a. Grimmelshausen, Döblin, Schlöndorff sowie Grass’ Essays und seine kontroverse Autobiographie Beim Häuten der Zwiebel (2006). – Eine Studienfahrt zum Grass Museum in Lübeck ist geplant; an eine Diskussion mit dem Nobelpreisträger ist gedacht.
