Schulsozialarbeit stellt ein interessantes Arbeitsfeld dar, das nicht nur im Kontext von Ganztagsschulen zunehmend an Bedeutung gewinnt. Im Seminar wird es darum gehen, die Geschichte der Schulsozialarbeit aufzuarbeiten, um so die Entwicklung einer "Sozialen Arbeit an Schule" bis in die Gegenwart hinein nachzeichnen zu können. Dabei stehen Fragen des "Professionsverständnisses" von Schul- und Sozialpädagogik ebenso im Zentrum, wie die rechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen und aktuellen Aufgabenzuschreibungen.

Die regelmäßige Teilnahme an den ausgewiesenen Plenumssitzungen wird als verbindlich vorausgesetzt. Die Bescheinigung einer Studienleistung bzw. Aktiven Teilnahme erfolgt durch die Gestaltung von Plenumssitzungen oder die Mitarbeit in Studiengruppen zu ausgewiesenen Terminen. Die Ergebnisse der Studiengruppen werden im Form von Podiumsdiskussionen präsentiert. Möglichkeiten der Leistungserbringung können dem StudIP entnommen werden.
