Das Seminar gliedert sich in zwei wesentliche Bereiche: Einerseits werden etablierte Annahmen aus den Gebieten der Phonetik und Phonologie und deren Überschneidung mit Morphologie und Syntax diskutiert. Andererseits wird den Teilnehmern die Möglichkeit geboten, diese Annahmen praktisch zu analysieren.
Im Mittelpunkt der Betrachtung steht die Frage wie Silben, Wörter und phonologische Phrasen im Deutschen gebildet und akzentuiert werden. Wobei ein Ausblick in andere Sprachen nicht ausgeschlossen ist.
Neben dem Kennenlernen von unterschiedlichen Untersuchungen auf diesem Gebiet bildet der Umgang mit den entsprechenden Analysewerkzeugen einen weiteren Bestandteil des Seminars.
