Die deutsche Heldenepik war am Übergang vom Mittelalter zur Neuzeit sehr populär und hat auch in der für epische Dichtungen ungewohnten Form der Prosa sowie im neuen Medium des Buchdrucks viele Leser gefunden. Am Beispiel des ‚Heldenbuchs‘ soll in diesem Seminar herausgearbeitet werden, worin die Unterschiede zur (hoch-)mittelalterlichen Heldendichtung um Dietrich von Bern zu erkennen sind.
