Die Veranstaltung bietet eine Einführung in die grundlegenden Methoden und Modelle der Neurolinguistik. Neben einer Einführung in die empirisch-experimentelle Vorgehensweise werden die Besonderheiten im Bereich der Neurolinguistik und der Klinischen Linguistik vorgestellt, da hier geisteswissenschaftliche und naturwissenschaftliche Vorgehensweisen und Forschungstraditionen aufeinander treffen. So werden Einzelfallstudien, Gruppenstudien und Laborexperimente diskutiert sowie wichtige experimentelle Designs der Linguistik, Psychologie, Neurobiologie und Medizin besprochen. Großen Raum werden die verwendeten Techniken und Methoden einnehmen (z.B. invasive Ableitungen, Wada-Test, EEG, fMRT, PET, NIRS), weiterhin werden die den Arbeitshypothesen zugrunde liegenden theoretischen Modelle vorgestellt. Die Veranstaltung soll einen kritischen Einblick in die Vorgehensweise neurolinguistischer Forschung ermöglichen.
