Im bundesdeutschen Diskurs herrscht in Bezug auf (Im-)Migration in allen gesellschaftlichen Bereichen, so auch im Bildungsbereich, noch immer, und entgegen der offiziellen Semantiken, ein tendenziell defizitorientierter Blick vor. Hierin unterscheidet sich die Bundesrepublik von anderen europäischen und außereuropäischen Gesellschaften zum Teil deutlich.
Unter welchen theoretischen Annahmen aber findet Migration bzw. Ethnizität dort, in jenen zum Teil avancierten Einwanderungsgesellschaften Berücksichtigung in Bildungsprogrammatiken und Curricula? Wie wird ethnisch codierte Differenz dort (pädagogisch und erziehungswissenschaftlich) thematisiert und diskutiert und wie findet sie auf der Ebene struktureller Bildungsorganisation konzeptionelle wie praktisch-pädagogische Umsetzung? Und schließlich: Was können Pädagogik und Erziehungswissenschaft lernen, wenn sie einen Blick über den eigenen „nationalen Tellerrand“ hinaus versuchen?
Diese Frage- und Problemstellungen werden im Seminar auf der Basis einschlägiger Literatur in international vergleichender Perspektive bearbeitet.
