Thema der Schrift Politik ist das "gute Leben" der Menschen in einer Polis. Aristoteles geht von einer Definition des Staates als höchster Form der menschlichen Gemeinschaft aus, deren Zweck das Gemeinwohl ist. Dieses liegt im moralisch gerechten und glückseligen Leben aller Menschen im Staat. Die Untersuchung des Gemeinwesens ist für Aristoteles Teil der praktischen Philosophie und eng mit Fragestellungen der Ethik verbunden. Obwohl Aristoteles sich auch mit den empirischen Gegebenheiten in den Staaten und Verfassungsformen seiner Zeit intensiv auseinandersetzt, ist dieses Werk im Kern eine normative Theorie institutionalisierten menschlichen Zusammenlebens.
In der Veranstaltung werden wir in gemeinsamer Lektüre eine systematische Interpretation dieses bedeutenden Textes versuchen.Eine Leistungsbescheinigung (BA-Studiengang) wird ausgestellt für regelmäßige Teilnahme und zwei Kurzessays.
Ein Leistungsnachweis (Magister- oder Lehramts-Studiengang) wird ausgestellt für eine Hausarbeit.
