The focus of this class is on the statistical modelling of longitudinal data.
Students will learn how to tranlsate their research question into a statistical model, how to sepcifiy this model in a modern software package, how to judge the "goodness-of-fit" of their model (i.e., may we use the model to describe the relationships in the empirical data?) and how to interpret model parameters.
The following models will be discussed:
1. Latent Trait Models
2. Latent Trait-State Models
3. Autoregressive Models
4. Latent-Growth Models
5. Mixture-Distribution Models
All models will be introduced theoretically, their meaning will be explained in detail and applications of these models to real data will help understanding the model parameters.
The language of this class is English - if all participants understand German, the class language might change to German.
During this class, students will learn how to translate research questions in modern statistical models like Structural Equation Modeling
