The seminar „Methods in Molecular Biology” will address current developments in molecular biology and related disciplines such as computational biology or bioinformatics. Within the seminar we will discuss ongoing research projects which use exciting techniques with potential to be widely applicable. We will also review the current literature with presentations by the participants to learn about new developments. The seminar is designed to look "behind the curtain": presenting the data is not based on reading the literature alone but also based on personal experience with a particular method or based on executing the code presented in the paper and / or re-analyzing the data which is reported in the manuscript.
The seminar is also open to staff scientists and faculty.
Active participation and a presentation are required to pass.

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
