Forschungsprojekte mit qualitativen Methoden zeichnen sich dadurch aus, dass sich im Prozess des Forschens Theorie und Empirie an mehreren Stellen auf verschiedene Weise miteinander verzahnen. So haben viele Methoden einen ausgeprägten theoretischen Hintergrund (Stichwort "Theory-Method-Packages"), so dass mit vielen Methoden ohnehin ein bestimmter theoretischer Rahmen einherkommt. Vor allem aber zielen qualitative Untersuchungen auf theoretische Aussagen und darauf, neues Wissen zu generieren.
Diese Research Class widmet sich den Verflechtungen von Theorie und Empirie, denen empirische Studien begegnen.
Die Veranstaltung findet in deutscher Sprache statt.
