220041 Historische und Sozialanthropologie (S) (WiSe 2005/2006)

Die Sozialanthropologie bildet insbesondere für die außereuropäische Geschichte eine zentrale historische Nachbardisziplin. Bereits die europäischen Missionare und Reisenden des frühen Kolonialzeitalters (16.-18. Jahrhundert) entwickelten eine ethnographische Tradition, aus der im 20. Jahrhundert die moderne Ethnologie / Sozialanthropologie hervorging. Das Seminar behandelt aus historischer und systematischer Perspektive wichtige Autoren, Theorien und Methoden der sozialanthropologischen Forschung, deren Bedeutung für die Geschichtswissenschaft und die interdisziplinären Querbezüge. Diese allgemeinen Aspekte werden anhand der Untersuchung multi-ethnischer Gesellschaften in der Geschichte Europas, Lateinamerikas und Südasiens vertieft.
