Das Mannsein ist nicht mehr selbstverständlich. Innerhalb der Geschlechterforschung gewinnt die Männlichkeitsforschung seit Jahren an Bedeutung. Parallel dazu finden Transformationsprozesse hinsichtlich der kulturellen und gesellschaftlichen Positionierungen von „Männlichkeit“ statt (Ablösung des Familienernährermodells, Diskurse und die „Krise der Männlichkeit“ und „neue Väter“, Entstehen einer tendenziell antifeministischen Männerrechtsbewegung etc.).
In diesem einführenden Seminar werden wir uns einerseits mit sozialwissenschaftlichen Konzeptualisierungen von „Männlichkeit“ beschäftigen und andererseits ausgewählte Themenbereiche der aktuellen Entwicklungen näher betrachten.
