Die Veranstaltung setzt sich mit der Konzeptualisierung des weltpolitischen Systems in verschiedenen Weltgesellschafts- und Systemtheorien auseinander. Dabei geht es insbesondere um die gängigsten Weltgesellschaftstheorien (Luhmann, Meyer, English School) sowie um neuere Systemtheorien (complex adaptive systems etc.).
Das Seminar wird sich hier sowohl mit "klassischen" Texten, als auch mit neuesten Beiträgen (bis hin zu neuesten Konferenzpapieren) auseinandersetzen. Das Lektürepensum ist mit 200-300 Seiten pro Sitzung zu veranschlagen.ACHTUNG: die erste Sitzung findet vierstündig statt; Sitzungstermine sind: 17.10. , 7.11., 14.11., 28.11., 5.12., 9.1., 23.1., 6.2. Die Teilnahme setzt die Anwesenheit in der ersten Sitzung zwingend voraus. Hausarbeitsthemen können schon ab Ende des SoSe 2005 abgesprochen werden; hier bitte Kontaktaufnahme über Email oder in der Sprechstunde

Vorkenntnisse in Theorien internationaler Beziehungen sowie in Theorien von Globalisierung/Global Governance/Weltgesellschaftstheorien sind unbedingt erforderlich
