Kolloquium zu laufenden Arbeiten: Entwicklungssoziologie/Frauen- und Geschlechterforschung / Colloquium on current research: Sociology of development / gender

The aim is to theorize and deepen debates on localisation, including negotiating development, agency of social movements, decentralisation by grounding it on empirical research on space, place and glocalisation. Engendering means using gender constructs, relations and order as focus of social analysis. The interest lies in bringing together innovative and classical interactive sociology and social anthropology with empirically based studies oriented towards theory building within the framework of globalisation theory, translocal flows and constitution of social spaces.
The procedure will be to discuss recent literature of common interest or on specific subjects, with special attention to its relevance to research work in progress by participants. The work will be common reading as well as discussion on data material presented by participants.
