Die deutsche Nominalflexion gilt strukturell wie lerntheoretisch als einer der komplexen bzw. lernaufwändigsten grammatischen Gegenstände. In dem Seminar werden sprachtheoretische und -historische Aspekte der Nominalflexion des Deutschen behandelt. Einen Schwerpunkt bilden dabei neuere Systematisierungsversuche der substantivischen und pronominalen Flexion. Diese zeigen, dass die Verteilung von Flexiven auf die grammatischen Positionen der Paradigmen nicht zufällig, sondern in vielen Fällen hochgradig systematisch ist. Es wird diskutiert, inwiefern die aufzuzeigende Systematik für den Fremdsprachenunterricht fruchtbar gemacht werden kann.
