300109 Welfare State and Social Inequality (S) (WiSe 2013/2014)

Contents, comment

This course focuses on the role of the state for welfare production in different countries. Within the course country profiles will be discussed and presented in order to identify different strategies of equality as well as welfare institutions and welfare state policies which are likely to be important for individual life chances and social inequalities. Next to this, theoretical and empirical findings on consequences of welfare state policies and welfare state institutions for life courses and social inequalities form a further part of the course.

- Participation in all group works and assignments
- Taking over the collection of definitions of scientific vocabulary and terms used within one lesson
