Im Seminar werden Fragestellungen der Kunst- und Musikwissenschaften aus systematischer Perspektive erörtert. Neben Kategorien der Wahrnehmung und Grundlagen des Ästhetik-Begriffs finden wichtige Bezugswissenschaften sowie historische und aktuelle Vorstellungen zur Systematisierung Berücksichtigung.
Anhand von Grundlagentexten und praxisnahen Übungen befragen wir die elementaren Bedingungen beider Künste als Fundament eines interdisziplinären Zugriffs: Was zeichnet ihre jeweiligen Mittel im Hinblick auf produktive und rezeptive Prozesse aus? In welcher Beziehung stehen sie zueinander? Wo gibt es überraschende Analogien, wo deutliche Differenzen? Erweisen sich möglicherweise gerade die Differenzen als lohnendes Potenzial nicht nur für den die Theoriebildung künstlerischer Schaffenprozesse, sondern auch für eine pädagogisch-didaktische Fundierung ästhetischer Bildung?
