Obgleich der Mainstream der sozialwissenschaftlichen Wissenschafts- und Technikforschung auf der Rekonstruktion von Fallstudien aufbaut, hält sich seit den Laborstudien der 1980er Jahre das Vorurteil, dass es sich dabei vor allem um mikrosoziologische Untersuchungen handelt. Auf der anderen Seite aber gibt es tatsächlich einige Angebote für eine "laterale" Perspektive.
Die Studiengruppe soll dabei helfen, einen Einblick in diese Angebote zu bekommen und verschiedene mikrosoziologische Zugänge - Praxistheorien, ANT, Pragmatismus - kennen zu lernen. Die Veranstaltung ergänzt das eher empirisch orientierte Seminar "Laborstudien" (300176) und es wird empfohlen, beide in Kombination zu belegen.
