230050 Guy de Maupassants Novellen (Ü) (SoSe 2012)

Guy de Maupassant (1850-1893) ist DER große französische „nouvelliste“ des 19. Jahrhunderts. Neben sechs Romanen hat er ca. 300 „nouvelles“ bzw. „contes“ geschrieben, die zu den meist gelesenen der Weltliteratur gehören. Seine Geschichten spielen überwiegend in seiner Heimat, der Normandie, oder in Paris und handeln von einfachen Bauern und kleinen Angestellten bzw. Beamten. In diesem Seminar werden wir verschiedene Kurzgeschichten von Maupassant im Original lesen und kommentieren und auch die Zeit (2. Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts) besprechen, in der seine Geschichten spielen. Viele der Novellen Maupassants wurden von namhaften Filmregisseuren wie z.B. Jean Renoir oder Claude Chabrol verfilmt. Als Ergänzung zu der Lektüre werden wir uns einige Verfilmungen aus der TV5-Reihe „Chez Maupassant“ ansehen.
Teilnahmevoraussetzungen, notwendige Kenntnisse:
- Gute Kenntnisse der französischen Sprache, um literarische Texte im Original lesen und verstehen zu können.
- Bereitschaft zur regelmäßigen aktiven Mitarbeit und zur Übernahme eines Kurzreferats über eine Kurzgeschichte von Maupassant.Literaturangaben:
« Contes du jour et de la nuit », Editions Gallimard, Collection Folio.
