This seminar, which is also open to advanced BA students as well as doctoral students, is directed mainly at MA students who are writing or intending to write a thesis in linguistics. After a general introduction on how to plan and organize a research project and how to write research papers, the meetings will be workshop-like, including presentations from scholars in- and outside from Bielefeld. Further topics will be determined by participants, who will present their current and planned work with the aim of getting feedback on their ideas and results. Each student will be expected to present a small scale study of her/his own at the end of term.
A reader with the required reading assignments for each session will be made available before start of term. Please make sure to get your personal copy before our first meeting.
