Netzwerke ermöglichen Computern, Daten miteinander auszutauschen. Das dies funktioniert erleben wir jeden Tag, wenn wir im Web surfen oder EMails verschicken. Im Rahmen dieser Veranstaltung wollen wir das Wie klären. Wir werden lernen, wie Computer miteinander kommunizieren, welche Programmierschnittstellen es dafür gibt und wie man sie einsetzt.
Die Übung wird sich an dem Buch "UNIX Network Programming" von W. Richard Stevens orientieren. Ein wichtiger Unterschied wird sein, daß wir als Implementierungssprache Perl statt C verwenden werden. Es wird vorausgesetzt, daß die Teilnehmer über ein Grundwissen in dieser Sprache verfügen.
Die Veranstaltung wird im GZI in V2 stattfinden, damit das Erlernte sofort praktisch erprobt werden kann. Aufgrund der Art der Veranstaltung ist eine Begrenzung auf maximal 20 Teilnehmer erforderlich. Eine verbindliche Anmeldung erfolgt über Eintrag in die Anmeldeliste am schwarzen Brett der AG Praktische Informatik in M3.
