A-cappella im Chor zu singen ist an US-Amerikanischen Hochschulen weit verbreitet, hierzulande aber noch selten.
Im Rahmen von VOCabiElity unternehmen wir im Wintersemester 2011/2012 einen Streifzug durch verschiedene Stile von A-cappella-Pop und -Jazz im Chor mit Arrangements aus Dänemark, den Niederlanden, den USA, Frankreich und Deutschland. Die Werkstatt vermittelt zudem einen Einblick in Grundlagen der Complete Vocal Technique, von Groove und Blending, in die Gestaltung von Circle Songs und in Techniken der vokalen Improvisation. Exemplarisch sollen probenmethodische Aspekte der Chorarbeit praktisch erfahrbar werden. Schließlich gibt es Gelegenheit, eigene kurze Arrangements in Form von Circle Songs auszuprobieren.
