Zu einem gemeinsam zwischen der oder dem Studierenden
und der oder dem Betreuenden vereinbarten Thema, das
meist dem Forschungsumfeld der gewählten Bereiche
entnommen ist, wird eine experimentelle Arbeit weitgehend
selbständig durchgeführt. Die Ergebnisse werden in einem
schriftlichen Bericht zusammengefasst. Dieser Bericht soll
entsprechend den Regeln des naturwissenschaftlichen
Publizierens aufgebaut sein und aus den Kapiteln
Zusammenfassung, Einführung, Material und Methoden,
Ergebnisse, Diskussion und Liste der Referenzen bestehen. Das
Thema und der experimentelle Aufwand müssen so gewählt
sein, dass die Arbeit in der vorgesehen Zeit angefertigt werden
kann.
Darüber hinaus werden die Ergebnisse des Projekts
vorgetragen und anschließend diskutiert.
