Contents, comment

The seminar covers a broad range of issues related to international and national studies on educational and welfare systems, e.g. aims, set-up, content, results, outcome and critiques. The elements of the systems to study and therewith the content of the seminar as such will be aggreed upon according to the interests of the participants within the first seminar session(s). The elements of the systems to become examined may comprise, for example, early childhood education, large-scale studies on school effectiveness, the educational system as such (c.f. OECD: Education at a glance), youth culture, vocational training systems, economics of education, or the facilitation of life-long learning.
Students of the Masters of Arts in Education program have the opportunity for an in dept coverage of themes within the following course: Advanced studies in educational sciences; Beleg-Nummer # 250254.
The seminar language is intended to be English in case it is requested by at least one international or German participant. Otherwise the seminar language may vary or be German.

Gegenstand des Seminars sind Zielsetzung, Aufbau, Inhalt, Ergebnisse, Folgen und Kritik von internationalen und nationalen Studien über Bildungs- und Sozialsysteme. Themen sind etwa vorschulische Bildung und außerschulische Jugendbildung, Schul- und Unterrichtsforschung inkl. Schulleistungsstudien, Bildungsberichterstattung, Berufsbildungsysteme, Bildungsökonomie, Lebenslanges Lernen etc. Die genauen Inhalte werden in der ersten Sitzung gemeinsam mit den SeminarteilnehmerInnen festgelegt. Zu diesem Seminar wird der modulbezogene Vertiefungskurs mit der Beleg-Nummer 250254 angeboten. Die Seminarsprache soll Englisch sein, sofern mindestens eine internationale oder deutschsprachige Teilnehmerin / ein Teilnehmer dies wünscht. Ansonsten kann die Seminarsprache wechseln oder Deutsch sein.
